From Steel Boxes to Digital Access

  • Role: UX Designer (Delivery Phase)
  • Timeline: 1.5 years
  • Scope: Rental flows, internal admin UX, legacy logic simplification
The designs were updated in 2025 to meet modern UI standards — improving clarity, consistency, and mobile ergonomics while preserving the original UX thinking. Some elements have been modified to respect NDA requirements
What was needed:
Transform a legacy, paper-based safe deposit box rental service into a fully digital experience — across mobile, web, and internal systems. The project demanded a careful balance of legal constraints, operational quirks, and user needs.
What I did:
  • Restructured flows for search, selection, renewal, and lease management
  • Designed for multiple platforms: internet banking, mobile app, staff tool
  • Adapted internal admin tool UI (based on Eclipse) with better hierarchy and clarity
  • Modernized 200+ icons and reduced interface noise
  • Ran user testing across multiple iterations
  • Designed around real-life context (vault layout, accessibility, guest visits)
Result:
Search and real-time availability map were launched; the rest of the system was fully designed, tested, and documented. Significantly reduced employee training load and made renewals accessible online — a key pain point.
For the client-facing platforms, I worked within strict design system constraints to deliver clear, ergonomic flows across mobile and internet banking. My role was to turn rental complexity into intuitive sequences: not just for renewing a contract, but for the entire rental lifecycle.
On the internal tools side, I helped redesign the staff-facing interface, where most operations relied on outdated workflows and memorized sequences. Many actions were hardcoded, with unclear logic and little system feedback. I introduced modern flows, added features like cross-branch safe search and reservation — making the tool future-ready and scalable.
